Online Readings
The majority of the readings in this course are online--most available for open access, some paywalled (but available to UCSB students for free via institutional subscription through the UCSB Library Proxy server.
Book to Be Purchased
Students need to purchase two physical books for the course:
- Franco Moretti, Graphs, Maps, Trees: Abstract Models for a Literary History (London; New York: Verso, 2005). Paperback copies may be purchased at the UCSB Bookstore or from other sources. The book should be acquired prior to the reading assignments for Class 4.
- Matthew L. Jockers, Macroanalysis: Digital Methods and Literary History (Champaign, IL: University of Illinois Press: 2013). Paperback and Kindle copies may be purchased online. The book should be acquired prior to the reading assignments for Class 4.
